Dalveer Singh is an MLA Barauli Aligarh and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a prominent Thakur leader of the Aligarh district and a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Barauli constituency in the Aligarh district. On 22 October 2017, employees clashed with Singh at an illegal toll plaza on NH 24 in Dasna, forcing the vehicle to pass non-stop for two hours. His grandson Thakur Ajay Singh was an LLM student at Aligarh Muslim University. He also successfully contested the election of the president of Aligarh Muslim University Students Union, but lost to rivals.
